Dates and deadlines for winter 2025/2026

Please take note of the following important dates and deadlines

The PhD Administration will be closed from 22 December 2025 until 5 January 2026. No case processing will occur during this period.

Submission of thesis:

If you wish to have your thesis screened and sent to assessment before the closing days, you must submit it in PhD Planner no later than10 December 2025. For the PhD Administration to comply with this, it is assumed that the thesis is complete at the time of submission.

If you have a submission deadline between 22 December and 4 January, you can wait to submit your thesis until 5 January, as the PhD Administration is closed between Christmas and New Year. If you cannot submit your thesis on 5 January, you must apply for an extension.

Prescreening:

If students want to be sure to get an answer to the pre-screening before Christmas, they must send their thesis to The Royal Library no later than 15 December at 12 am.

Oral defence:

If you expect to defend your thesis in early/mid-January, the PhD Administration must receive the positive recommendation no later than 10 December and defence information immediately thereafter.

Be aware that two months before submitting your PhD thesis, you must nominate an assessment committee for the assessment of your thesis and the PhD defence.

You and your principal supervisor nominate the committee by submitting the form "Nominating an Assessment committee".
