Requirements for course directors
Requirements for course directors on non-generic (specialised) courses
- The course director must be at an academic level corresponding to an associate professor or higher
- Assistant professors may act as course directors if they have a co-course director at the academic level of associate professor or higher.
Assistant professors as course directors
Assistant professors can apply for exemption from the rule regarding the academic level of the course director and act as course directors if granted permission beforehand. An exemption will only apply to the specific course.
Applications must be submitted via email at phdkursus@sund.ku.dk and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis judged by the following criteria:
- The assistant professor is employed in a tenure-track position and is expected to be employed as an associate professor within 12 months.
- The head of the department or center confirms that the assistant professor is expected to be employed as an associate professor within six months.
- The assistant professor is about to complete the teacher training programme (universitetspædagogikum) and is recommended as a course director by the mentor on the course, the (deputy) head of department or the Head of Graduate Programme.
