Alignment of expectations between the PhD student and supervisor

All new applicants must complete an alignment of expectation sheet together with their principal supervisor.

The sheet must be completed before or no later than three months after enrolment.

Aligning expectations improves co-operation

Early alignment of expectations between supervisor and PhD student is a key to effective co-operation during a PhD project. The alignment of expectation sheet helps structuring the dialogue by guiding the supervisor and the PhD student.

The supervisor and PhD student sign and save the completed alignment of expectation sheet and revisit it in connection with regular assessments, and if needed during the PhD project.
