Enrolment with foreign cost-of-living scholarship
Enrolment of PhD students with a CSC scholarship is placed on hold
As of 24 February 2023, UCPH Rectorate has decided to place enrolments of PhD students with a CSC scholarship on hold while the conditions of their contracts are examined. This also includes PhD students enrolled in connection with double degree agreements with SDC and guest PhD students (without enrolment). The rules and exemptions below therefore do not adhere to PhD students with a CSC scholarship.
With effect from 1 January 2023, the following rules apply for PhD students with international cost-of-living scholarships.
PhD students with international cost-of-living scholarships must:
- pay tuition fee (currently the fee is 3 x DKK 50,000)
- have at least DKK DKK 13,178 (2023 level) in stipend/income per month before taxes. UCPH cannot offer hourly-paid employment in order to top up a cost-of-living grant that is lower than the minimum amount.
View the rules here: UCPH rules regarding PhD students with cost-of-living scholarships from abroad.
When applying for enrolment, the application must:
- contain a confirmation from the applicant that there is no UCPH funding involved in the PhD project.
- state the size of the grant and include a copy of the grant letter.
- include information on the sources of funding for salaries if the stipend does not meet the minimum amount. The existence of such funds must be documented for the first year of enrolment.
- include any agreements with private businesses, hospitals, foundations, or private funds.
- include information about the source of funding for payment of the tuition fee.
