Book a Scientist 2025
The Book a Scientist programme is part of the nationwide Danish Science Festival thattakes place from 22 April to 27 April 2025. The annual Danish Science Festival is organised by theMinistry of Higher Education and Science and consists of more than 700 events and 75,000 visitors. In 2024, Book a Scientist had over 22.500 participants, 651 presentations and 294 scientists.
Why take part in Book a Scientist?
Book a Scientist gives everyone the opportunity to receive a visit from a scientist, free of charge, during the Danish Science Festival. Book a Scientist is a nationwide initiative, which creates a meeting place for scientists and the community. It gives the scientists the opportunity to enter into a dialogue with citizens all over Denmark and helps to create more relations between scientists and society.
Who can participate?
To participate in Book a Scientist, you must be a scientist. This means, you must be a PhD student, have a PhD degree or have equivalent qualifications. You must also be employed by a public or private company that has research as one of its primary tasks and your employment must not be more than seven years old. You can apply for exemption for the employment period.
Registration is open until February 1, 2025. It is recommend that you register as soon as possible to give the time to promote your presentation. People can book your presentation from February 7, 2025. We will send you a link once your presentation has been approved by the administration so that you can check that all the information is correct.
You decide how much you want to participate
We don’t expect you to be available all day the whole week. Even if you only have time one or two afternoons during the festival, we would love to have you. You decide yourself which days, parts of the day, and where in the country you will be available.
Who can book a scientist?
Anyone can invite you to come and give a presentation. It might be a school teacher, librarian, or a companythat finds your presentation particularly interesting. The interested parties supply the facilities and ensure that there will be at least 20 attendees. You agree on the details your-self, and we coordinate your booking once we have put you in contact with the interested party.
