Summer holiday 2023 at the Graduate School
The Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences is not fully staffed during July and August. Consequently, the following changes apply:
Processing time
Please expect extended processing times between 1 July and mid-August.
Enrolment applications
We are unable to process enrolment applications between 10 and 28 July 2023, both days included.
If you need your enrolment certificate to be issued between 10 and 28 July 2023, you must submit your enrolment application no later than 9 June 2023. From 29 July forward, enrolment applications are processed as normal with the usual 10 days expected for case management.
Regarding approval of an assessment committee
Please note that The Graduate School will not be able to send your assessment committee for approval during the period 10 July to 6 August.
Submission of PhD thesis
If you submit your thesis from 1 May to 31 July, your assessment committee will have 3 months to assess your thesis. The Ministerial Order on the PhD programme states that July is not included in the assessment period. The Graduate School will thus add 1 month to the assessment committee’s deadline during the entire month of July.
During July there might be a slight delay in the case handling due to the holiday and from 24-30 July no cases related to finishing the PhD studies will be handled. This includes case handling involving the appointment of assessment committees and screening for duplicate text.
The Graduate School will not be able to screen PhD theses for duplicate text from 28 July to 6 August. Consequently, theses submitted between 28 July and 6 August will not be processed until 7 August. You are welcome to submit your thesis during the period, but it will not be screened and sent to the assessment committee until after 7 August.
