Short description of the thesis

Central line-associated bloodstream infections are a common and serious complication in patients with cancer and haematological diseases. This PhD thesis investigates the efficacy and safety of hydrochloric acid lock therapy as an adjunct to systemic antibiotics through an in vitro study and a randomised controlled trial. The findings are discussed in the context of existing treatment options, with particular emphasis on the potential role of hydrochloric acid lock therapy in clinical practice.
