Short description of the thesis
Globally, liver malignancies are a major cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality, and treatment strategies continue to evolve. This thesis investigates thermal ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma and liver metastases across different clinical settings. The studies examine technique efficacy, complications, long-term outcomes, and procedural approaches. Collectively, the findings demonstrate high technique efficacy and low morbidity, while highlighting the importance of tumor burden, patient characteristics, and recurrence for long-term outcomes. The findings support the evolving role of ablation as a minimally invasive treatment for liver malignancies.
