Short description of the thesis:
Trigeminusneuralgi er en alvorlig ansigtssmertesygdom med stor betydning for patienternes liv. Denne ph.d.-afhandling undersøger sygdommen gennem nationale registerdata og prospektive kliniske studier med fokus på komorbiditet, sygdomsforløb og langtidsresultater efter medicinsk og kirurgisk behandling. Afhandlingen viser, at trigeminusneuralgi bør forstås i en bredere klinisk sammenhæng med varierende prognose og behandlingsrespons. Resultaterne understøtter behovet for struktureret, individualiseret behandling og bedre redskaber til at forudsige forløb og behandlingsvalg.
