Short description of the thesis
Should small non-coding RNAs be regarded as endocrine messengers?
During this PhD defence Ailsa Maria Main will present three studies of small non-coding RNAs in different male cohorts. Spanning from healthy pubertal boys across young adulthood to elderly men with prostate cancer. The presentation is of interest to anyone interested in the field of male reproduction. The results add to the current known complexity of the male reproductive system. Also, the studies suggest that specific small non-coding RNAs should be considered for further research into pubertal development, anabolic-androgenic steroid use, and prostate cancer treatment.
