Short description of the thesis

This PhD thesis investigates the assessment of MRIs and radiographs of the sacroiliac joints in patients with spondyloarthritis in clinical practice and research, focusing on how it is currently done and how it can be improved. This has been investigated both by examining the content of 913 image reports from routine care and by testing a systematic online training program for persons with varying levels of experience reading such images. Optimizing how images are read and how findings are communicated is crucial to making the correct diagnosis and thereby initiating the appropriate treatment.
