Screening for duplicate text

In the efforts of encouraging good scientific practice, The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences screens all doctoral dissertations for duplicate text immediately after submission.

Do not copy text directly from your own publications or manuscripts. This is perceived as copied text and is not acceptable.

Screening process

The screening takes a maximum of seven days from the submission of the dissertation.

If duplicate text is found in the dissertation the author will be notified immediately. The Faculty will then start a process examining whether the duplicate text is of a nature and extent that constitutes copied text.

The Academic Council may decide to decline to consider a submitted dissertation according to the Ministerial Order section 4.2.1: "..it is evident from the form or contents of the dissertation that the degree cannot be awarded".
