School of Health Innovation for Professors and Managers

How can you increase innovation in your lab? How can you combine being a scientist and a health innovator? These are some of the topics that will be discussed at the innovation intro course for professors, group leaders and managers.

INFORMATION

Date: June 12th - 13th, 2024
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark.
Participants: Assist., Assoc. and full professors, group leaders, managers, clinicians, research coordinators from any public university or hospital from Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.
Maximum capacity: 20 participants from all partner countries (SE, NO, DK) will be accepted.
Admission: Based on CV.

Costs: The course is free of cost and all expenses for travel, food, and accommodation are covered by the programme. We reimburse travel expenses up to 2,000 DKK.

Learning outcomes:

  • Commercialization of research-based inventions. What, how and why? Including highlighting some of the IPR differences between countries.
  • Balancing basic research, commercialization and clinical trials.
  • The secrets of the perfect pitch.
  • Introduction to business modelling and team-work / How to formulate business models based on your research idea.
  • Business Model Canvas.

Jeff Skinner, an expert in entrepreneurship and innovation from London Business School, will do a half day seminar with a relevant case based on real biomedical technologies - to explore and illustrate the role that researchers play in leading new ‘medtech’ ventures. 

There will also be a groupwork session, where you will get a chance to identify the commercial potential in your research.

The course happens on an annual basis.
