Talks (NB: Only in Danish)
You do not always experience the world exactly as it is. The brain interprets, fills in gaps, and makes automatic guesses, often without you noticing.
Come and experience optical illusions, colour illusions and interactive demonstrations that reveal how our vision can deceive us, and how we can overlook what is right in front of us.
We will also explore memory: Why do false memories occur, and why can eyewitness accounts be unreliable? Memory is not an archive. Every time we recall a memory, it is reconstructed.
The evening's expert is Thomas Alrik Sørensen, neuroscientist and Associate Professor of Psychology at Aalborg University. In collaboration with the Lundbeck Foundation, he will help you understand why reality is not always quite what it seems...
Søren Brunak is one of Denmark's leading researchers in health data science and has worked with Danish registry data for decades.
Last year, visitors at the Fiol Library could hear him explain how our personal data can help us gain a better understanding of our future health.
Across the Nordic countries and Europe, discussions are underway on how health data can work seamlessly across borders to improve research and healthcare.

Guided tour
Join a guided tour through the tunnel network connecting Panum, Rigshospitalet, the Department of Forensic Medicine, and Universitetsparken.
The tour ends at the H.C. Ørsted Building in Universitetsparken, where even more exciting Culture Night experiences await at SCIENCE Nørre.
Tours depart at 19:00, 20:00 and 21:00.
