New rules regarding online courses

From 1 September 2022, the Graduate School introduces a limit on the number of ECTS that can be approved for online courses offered via online platforms like Coursera, edX, MOOC and the like. This means that from 1 September 2022 PhD students enrolled at SUND can have a maximum of 5 ECTS approved for courses offered by the above-mentioned platforms. The rules regarding approval of external courses can be found on the Graduate School website.

If you have already had 5 or more ECTS approved for courses offered by the aforementioned platforms, the Graduate School will not deduct ECTS, but you cannot apply for approval of more courses from online platforms like edX, Coursera, MOOC and the like, after 31 August 2022.

If you have already completed online courses provided by Coursera, edX, MOOC, etc. and you wish to apply for approval of these courses, we will kindly ask you to submit your application no later than 31 August 2022, as the limit of 5 ECTS will take effect from 1 September 2022.
