Short description of the thesis

Limited data on management and biosecurity in animal holdings is a common challenge in animal health risk assessment and a major source of uncertainty. This PhD thesis shows how epidemiological studies can support risk assessment and disease preparedness by generating relevant data and evaluating evidence quality. The findings emphasise the need for transparent and systematic reporting of assumptions, uncertainties and biases to support evidence-based decision-making. The thesis provides practical guidance to support more structured and transparent reporting of evidence quality in risk assessments within the Danish Veterinary Consortium (DK-VET).
