Short description of the thesis

Cystic fibrosis has long been defined by chronic lung infetions, intensive treatments, and limited life expectancy. The introduction of of the highly effective CFTR modulator therapy elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ET) has transformed this landscape, changing both patient outcomes and clinical practice. In this thesis, the impact of ETI on disease activity, inflammation and antiobitc use is investigated. The findings reveal profound clinical improvements and raise the question: can infections once considered lifelong now be eradicated?
