Professor Tor Biering-Sørensen is awarded with the Erhoff Foundation's Talent Prize for his research in heart diseases

Tor Biering-Sørensen is awarded the Erhoff Foundation's Talent Prize 2023, which is given to exceptionally talented researchers under 40 years of age. He receives the prize for his work on the prevention of heart diseases.

"Professor Tor Biering Sørensen, despite being only 39 years old, has had a meteoric career in medical science, focusing on the early diagnosis of asymptomatic precursors to heart diseases. Tor Biering-Sørensen, who has published more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific articles within his research focus, is an exemplary exponent of innovative clinical research."

This states Professor Oluf Borbye Pedersen, the chairman of the Erhoff Foundation, which has just awarded Tor Biering-Sørensen the Erhoff Foundation's Talent Prize 2023. The prize is given to a younger researcher under the age of 40 who has made extensive scientific contributions to the biomedical research field.

Tor Biering-Sørensen is particularly recognized for his research in preventing heart diseases through ultrasound. He and his research team identify early signs of heart muscle function impairment, potentially preventing heart diseases in the future.

"It is a huge recognition and a pat on the back for the work we do. Research is a team discipline, and it's only possible to conduct good research in teams. Therefore, it is also a great recognition of my fantastic research team," says Professor Tor Biering-Sørensen.
