Talk: Optimize and Evaluate HIV interventions in East Africa using Targeted Machine Learning and Causal Inference

On May 20, the world-renowned biostatistician and long-term collaborator Prof. Maya Petersen, UC Berkeley, will give a talk at the Department.

The talk will introduce advanced statistical methods developed by Prof. Petersen and her team to optimize and evaluate HIV interventions in East Africa. These approaches are designed to maintain a clear focus on the scientific question while enabling the use of sophisticated data analysis to gain deeper insights from complex datasets.

The event is open to all with an interest in modern quantitative methods in health science. No prior experience with causal inference or targeted learning is required.
