Workshop on Biophysics of proteins, lipid membrane, and complex biological interfaces in the context of pharmaceutical sciences

DRA workshop

The networking event aims at discussing potential synergies between the ongoing research at Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen (KU), the Divisions of physical chemistry, computational chemistry, and biochemistry at Lund University (LU). The oral presentations will highlight the research of young researchers in the field of chemistry, biology, and physics with applications in pharmaceutical sciences. The event is organized in collaboration with COMMONS center.

The workshop will take place on Monday 26/08, likely from 10:30 to 19:00 including lunch and buffet in the evening (more information will be provided in the following weeks).

The talks and discussions will be grouped in 3 sessions covering 3 themes:

  • Protein biophysics - disease and drug delivery
Invited Speakers: Andreas Carlsson (LU), Marija Dubackic (LU), Sam Lenton (KU), Pascal Bertch (KU)
  • Lipids self-assembly - model membranes and drug delivery
Invited Speakers: Julia Valderas Gutierrez (LU), Amanda Eriksson Skog (LU), Luna Gade (KU), Mette Klitgaard (KU)
  • Data analysis of complex datasets (related to proteins and lipids)
Invited Speakers: Davide Schirone (LU-MAU), Szilard Saringer (LU), Anas Aljabbari (KU) and Anders Larsen (KU)

You can sign up for the event here - deadline 14 August 2024

The workshop is organised on behalf of the graduate programme in pharmaceutical sciences, Drug Research Academy,  in collaboration with COMMONS center by Tenure Track Assistant Professor Federica Sebastiani, Dr Shinji Kihara, Professor Vito Foderà, Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, and Dr Marco Fornasier and Dr Nicole Galenkamp from Division of Physical Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, Lund University.

The workshop is free of charge and open for attendance by all interested parties upon signing up.
