Recent Breakthroughs in Powder Tabletability Research
DRA lecture held by Professor Changquan Calvin Sun, University of Minnesota, United States
Powder compaction is an essential process for making tablets, or pellets, for a number of industries, including pharmaceuticals. The success or failure of powder compaction depends on both material properties and compaction process. In this talk, Professor Sun will first present some important concepts pertaining to powder compaction to lay a foundation for deeper exploration of advanced topics in powder compaction. Then, he will present recent breakthroughs in powder compaction research, including a tabletability equation, tabletability flip phenomenon, and prediction of tabletability of mixtures from those of individual components.
The lecture is organised on behalf of the graduate programme in pharmaceutical sciences, Drug Research Academy, by Associate Professor Mingshi Yang, Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
The DRA lecture is free of charge and open for attendance by all interested parties. It is not necessary to pre-register.
