Modeling stroke preclinically; from comorbidities to cognitive impairments

DRA lecture held by Dr. Andrew Clarkson, Regenbio

Dr. Clarkson has notable experience in the field of stroke research and brain repair mechanisms including pharmacological evaluation of GABAergic drugs. In addition he has a lot of experience from industrial aspects of clinical drug development. After 13 years as senior lecturer at the University of Otago, New Zealand, he is now working as an advisor in neurorepair and regenerative biology, and is currently a guest at the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology.

The lecture will cover new insights into stroke animal models and their use in preclinical research.


The lecture is organized on behalf of the graduate programme in pharmaceutical sciences, Drug Research Academy, by Professor Petrine Wellendorph, Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology, and Associate Professor Mie Kristensen, Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

The DRA lecture is free of charge and open for attendance by all interested parties. It is not necessary to pre-register.
