Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) has an active research program around pharmaceutical sciences. Professor Dimitrios Lamprou together with Dr Wylie from the QUB School of Pharmacy will travel to the University of Copenhagen to introduce their work and discuss research collaborations.

After general introduction to QUB, two specific talks covering "A journey into the wonderful world of Emerging Technologies for sustainable Pharmaceutical Manufacturing".

09:45-10:15 Dimitrios Lamprou, QUB
Dr. Lamprou will cover examples of Bioprinting, 4D Printing, Coaxial-Electrospinning, Microfluidics, Lab-on-a-chip, and BioMEMS in the Manufacturing of Sustainable Drug Delivery Systems, Medical Devices & Implants.

10:15-10:45 Matthew Wylie, QUB
Dr. Wylie’s research is focused on medical device-related infection, the design of infection resistant materials and fundamental investigation of bacterial-surface interactions.

The minisymposium is organised on behalf of the graduate programme in pharmaceutical sciences, Drug Research Academy, by Professor Jukka Rantanen, Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

The DRA minisymposium is free of charge and open for attendance by all interested parties. It is not necessary to pre-register.
