Adjustment of rules of the Graduate School’s financial support for research stays abroad

The Graduate School adjusts the rules regarding financial support for change of research environment abroad. The adjustment concerns the number of journeys eligible for funding.

Financial support as of 1 March 2018

Until now, the Graduate School has covered transport for one outward and one return journey, even if PhD students spend several stays abroad.

As of 1 March 2018, PhD students can apply for funding for more than one outward and homeward journey during their change of research environment abroad.

All journeys related to the stay abroad will be eligible for funding. Not considered a legitimate purpose are journeys for private purposes, conferences and courses.

The amount granted and all other rules remain unchanged. Accordingly, the maximum grant is up to DKK 10,000 for the first month and up to DKK 5,000 for each of the following five months. Regardless of whether a PhD student applies for financial support once or twice, the maximum grant is DKK 35,000

When is it possible to apply under the new rules?

PhD students may submit their first or second application as of 1 March 2018. The change does not work with retrospective effect.
