The dates of the current and upcoming academic year at the University of Copenhagen can be found on the University of Copenhagen's portal for international students, studies.ku.dk.
Semester and block structures
Many fields of study at the Faculty follow a semester system, with two semesters for each academic year. Teaching at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences follows a block structure, with four blocks for each academic year. This is also the case for the Master's Programmes in Global Health and Human Biology. The dates of the current and upcoming blocks can be found on studies.ku.dk.
When to arrive: welcome/orientation meetings and programme
The International Relations Office at the Faculty organises a brief welcome/orientation meeting for exchange students a few days before the start of each semester. A separate meeting is held for exchange students in medicine early in the semester but medical students who are in Copenhagen in time for the general welcome/orientation meeting are welcome to attend this meeting too.
The International Relations Office also organises a one-week welcome/orientation programme before the start of the academic year for full-degree international students enrolled in one of the Faculty's English-language Master's programmes.
More information about the welcome/orientation meetings and programme is available under Academic and Student Life.
